Job Description

The Railroad Fireman is responsible for operating and maintaining steam locomotives, ensuring they run safely, efficiently, and on schedule. This role demands the ability to react swiftly to emergencies and maintain compliance with safety regulations. You'll work closely with a dedicated team, ensuring seamless communication and effective operations.

Responsibilities

• Operate steam locomotives safely and efficiently.
• Track boiler performance and maintain appropriate levels.
• Perform regular checks and routine maintenance on equipment.
• Act swiftly during emergencies, ensuring minimal disruption.
• Follow all safety regulations to ensure crew and passenger safety.
• Record and report any operational issues or mechanical failures.
• Collaborate with other train crew members for seamless operations.
• Engage in ongoing safety training and equipment handling drills.
• Document maintenance records and performance logs.
• Assist in preparing locomotives for service.

Requirements

Education

• Completion of a locomotive engineers' training program.
• High school diploma or equivalent is mandatory.

Experience

• Experience working on steam locomotives is preferred.

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of safety regulations
