We are searching for a skilled and experienced Field Disease and Insect Control Inspector ready to join our passionate team. In this role, you will conduct field inspections to identify diseases and insect infestations affecting crops and trees. Your expertise will be pivotal in developing and implementing control strategies that prioritise both efficacy and sustainability. You will also provide valuable recommendations to farmers and landowners, ensuring their agricultural practices remain robust and resilient in the face of environmental challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Perform rigorous field inspections to detect disease and insect infestations affecting crops and forestry.
  • Design and execute pest management strategies while prioritising environmentally sustainable practices.
  • Analyse samples in cooperation with laboratory experts to ascertain pest-type and severity.
  • Review the success of pest control measures and make necessary modifications.
  • Advise farmers on effective disease and pest control tactics, enhancing their crop resilience.
  • Document thorough reports detailing inspection outcomes and corrective measures.
  • Engage with ongoing education opportunities to stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Work with various agricultural professionals to enhance field strategies and management practices.

Requirements

Education
  • Relevant Certifications in Disease and Insect Control
Experience
  • 3-5 years in an agricultural or forestry setting preferred.
