Job Description

As a Special Education Teacher, you will focus on developing and implementing individualised education plans that cater to the unique needs of students in the kindergarten setting. You will engage in various therapeutic activities, collaborating with families and multidisciplinary teams to ensure a holistic approach to each child's education.

Responsibilities

• Conduct regular assessments to monitor the progress of students under care.
• Engage in collaborative planning with fellow educators and specialists.
• Implement individualised instruction to facilitate learning and growth.
• Communicate effectively with families regarding their child's development.
• Ensure an inclusive and supportive classroom environment for all students.
• Provide professional development sessions for staff on special education strategies.

• Participate in community outreach programs to support families and children.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Education or a related field
• Specialisation in Early Childhood or Special Education preferred

Experience

• At least 2 years experience supporting children with disabilities

Technical Skills

• Knowledge of Childhood Development

Soft Skills

• Problem-solving

Certifications

• Registered Teacher Certification

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Training in trauma-informed care: Knowledge of approaches to support trauma-affected children.
• Experience in early childhood settings: Background working with young children in educational environments.
