Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Legal Counsel to join our Lismore office. The successful candidate will provide legal advice, manage compliance risks, and represent our organisation in various legal proceedings. You will work closely with different departments to ensure that our legal practices align with our business strategies.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough legal research to support business initiatives.
• Assess potential legal exposures and recommend solutions.
• Coordinate with internal stakeholders to ensure legal alignment.
• Maintain accurate records of legal proceedings and documentation.
• Participate in contract negotiations and settlements.

Requirements

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Law (LLB)
• Relevant further legal qualification is a plus

Experience

• 5+ years of experience in legal advisory roles

Technical Skills

• Litigation
• Mediation and Negotiation

Soft Skills

• Leadership
• Interpersonal Skills

Certifications

• Certificate in Mediation or similar

Languages

• English: Fluent

Advantageous

• Experience with Employment Law: Understanding of employment law and workplace regulations.
• Experience with Environmental Law: Knowledge of environmental regulations and compliance issues.
