Job Description

The Lathe and Turning Machine Tool Setter will play a crucial role in operating and maintaining gear cutting machines to produce high-quality gears used in various applications. This position requires a detail-oriented individual with strong mechanical aptitude and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Configure and run lathes and other turning equipment for manufacturing.
• Read and apply engineering specifications and machining instructions.
• Perform quality checks on all products to ensure compliance with specifications.
• Assist with process improvement initiatives to enhance productivity.
• Maintain inventory of materials and tools for production needs.
• Collaborate with quality control to address production issues promptly.
• Participate in safety drills and training sessions as necessary.
• Provide feedback on machine performance and suggest improvements.
• Engage in ongoing learning about new manufacturing technologies.
• Ensure workspace is clean and organized.

Requirements

Education

• Certificate III in Engineering (Mechanical)
• Additional qualifications in Quality Control or related fields preferred

Experience

• 3+ years of experience in gear cutting or related manufacturing processes
