Job Description

As a Fish Checker, your primary responsibility will be to ensure that all fish caught meet regulatory and quality standards. You will conduct inspections, verify species and sizes, and collaborate with fishermen and the Quality Assurance team. Your work will contribute to our mission of providing top-notch seafood while adhering to all industry regulations.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough inspections of fish caught to verify adherence to compliance standards.
• Accurately document findings and report any discrepancies to the Quality Assurance team.
• Engage with fishermen to relay crucial information pertaining to quality assurance and regulation adherence.
• Ensure that all fish are correctly identified and recorded in compliance with local regulations.
• Participate in the development and implementation of quality improvement initiatives.
• Stay informed about changes in legislation regarding fishing and seafood handling.
• Coordinate with logistics to ensure proper transport and storage conditions for fish.
• Support the training of new team members on quality assurance protocols and standards.

Requirements

Education

• No specific degree required.
• Qualification in Fisheries Science or a related field is a plus.

Experience

• Experience in seafood inspection or a role within the fishing industry.

Technical Skills

• Understanding of fishing regulations

Languages
