Job Description

As a Mental Health Counselor, you will provide essential support and care to children and youth facing various challenges in a residential care setting. You will work collaboratively with a multidisciplinary team to implement individualized care plans, deliver emotional support, and ensure the wellbeing of clients.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure the safety and well-being of clients at all times.
  • Provide hands-on support and engage in daily activities with residents.
  • Assist in developing therapeutic programs to support emotional growth.
  • Coordinate with healthcare providers for holistic care.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss client progress.
  • Create a welcoming environment for clients, fostering trust and security.
  • Provide feedback and insights to enhance care strategies.
  • Facilitate communication between children and their families when needed.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Child and Youth Care, Social Work, Psychology, or a related field
Experience
  • Experience working with children and youth in a residential care setting is essential.
