Job Description

The Marine Interdiction Agent (MIA) plays a vital role in maritime law enforcement, conducting patrols to prevent illegal activities such as drug trafficking and illegal immigration. You will collaborate with other law enforcement agencies to ensure the safety of Australia's borders.

Responsibilities

  • Direct surveillance and interception of vessels suspected of illegal activity.
  • Conduct thorough inspections of cargo, vessels, and passengers.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement to effectively address security threats.
  • Document incidents and prepare relevant reports for analysis.
  • Engage in continuous training to stay updated on maritime laws and techniques.
  • Assist in mentoring new recruits and sharing knowledge with colleagues.
  • Support community safety initiatives and foster positive community relations.
  • Actively participate in strategic planning for maritime operations.
  • Utilise the latest technology in maritime surveillance to enhance security.
  • Conduct risk assessments and implement necessary safety measures.

Requirements

Education
