The ideal candidate will manage the authorisation process, ensuring compliance and effectiveness in handling patient referrals for medical services. This role is essential for maintaining staff communication and supporting patient education about the referral process.

Responsibilities

  • Accurately process and coordinate all authorisation requests.
  • Ensure patients' records are updated and confidential.
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to navigate referral guidelines.
  • Follow up on pending and overdue referrals.
  • Assist in patient education regarding the referral timeline and expectations.
  • Engage in problem-solving throughout the authorisation process.
  • Utilise electronic medical record systems for data entry and record-keeping.

Requirements

Education
  • Diploma or higher qualification in healthcare administration or related field
  • Certification in medical billing and coding is advantageous
Experience
  • Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar role, preferably in a healthcare setting.
