Job Description

We are seeking a passionate Conservation Scientist to join our dynamic team in Melbourne. The successful candidate will be involved in aquatic habitat restoration projects, conducting field assessments and collaborating with stakeholders to enhance environmental outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects focused on restoring aquatic habitats.
  • Facilitate collaborations across various sectors to achieve restoration goals.
  • Evaluate the ecological health of aquatic environments through field data.
  • Advocate for conservation efforts within community forums.
  • Train staff in habitat restoration techniques and methods.
  • Utilise GIS tools for project planning and monitoring.
  • Document project milestones and successes for reporting.
  • Engage in continuous learning about ecological best practices.
  • Foster partnerships with Indigenous groups on restoration initiatives.
  • Promote awareness of aquatic ecosystems and conservation.

Requirements

Education
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, or related field
  • Master's degree in a relevant field is an advantage
